Einerseits, ja, echte Demokratie, Gwaltenteilung, echte Politik braucht Zeit.

Andererseits braucht sie auch nicht sooo viel Zeit, das merkt man immer wenn die politische Landschaft sich verändert, und plötzlich gehen gewisse Dinge ganz schnell (so gesehen z-B. während Korona, Ukrainekrieg, und jetzt halt dem Zerfall der USA).

Man kann aber nicht einfach verlangen “Mach das jetzt, wir wissen doch dass die böse sind!” - das wäre im Endeffekt Lynchjustiz. So sehr ich dem Rufer da zustimmen würde, Rechtsstaatlichkeit muss sein.

I’m desperately hoping for these things:

1. the AfD gets disbanded as soon as possible. If Germany keeps dragging its feet it just gives them more ammunition. The legality is clear on this. And I know, there will be protest from their constituency, and ranting and raving and pulling of hairs, but it just needs to be done.
2. the - some - other parties figure out how to use social media properly. Die Linke seems to have it down rn. I’m not sure if this requires bringing “cool” people to the front while “uncool” people do the actual work / hold the actual power in the back, but if it does, just make it so! Because it certainly would be better than uncool people like Merz being the populist face of the party while at the same time making policy that seems to aim more at saving face than actual policy.

FWIW I’m writing this on a 13yo thinkpad that has 2 cores @ 2 threads each, at 2.6GHz max, and it’s fine for anything except gaming.

Im September hatte das Auswärtige Amt Äußerungen des damals noch republikanischen US-Präsidentschaftskandidaten Trump im TV-Duell mit seiner Konkurrentin Kamala Harris ironisch kommentiert. Trump wiederholte in der Debatte die Unterstellung seines Vizekandidaten Vance, illegal eingewanderte Migranten in Springfield im US-Bundesstaat Ohio äßen Haustiere. US-Medien zufolge sind den Behörden in Springfield derartige Fälle nicht bekannt. Das deutsche Außenministerium nahm darauf in einem Beitrag auf der Plattform X Bezug: “PS: Wir essen auch keine Katzen und Hunde.”

Wann X-Verbot in EU? Oder zumindest in D-Land, wenn man sich anschaut was Musky da vor der Wahl abgezogen hat? Warum dauert sowas immer so lange? Laufen überhaupt schon irgendwelche Verfahren? Es ist doch offensichtlich was der mit seiner Plattform macht! 😡

Recht hast du! Das wird ganz gezielt und absichtlich so eingesetzt. Die Grenzen dessen was rechtsstaatlich ist und was nicht werden absichtlich verwischt um Leute wütend zu machen: jeder politische Gerichtsprozess ist ein Schauprozess und/oder ein Angriff auf die AfD/Freiheit/whatever. Das ist Rechtspopulismus.

Already exists. Several iterations are active and work as a daily driver: phone, sms and mobile networking works reliably, apps exist. Just not as many as on Android, and some features are not part of the OS. This is enough for many to declare them “a failure”. That and limited hardware support.

Agreed. But it seems that the EU is also doing something about that. Just like with AfD, they’ve been dragging their feet for way too long but now something* gave them a jolt.

We currently have an interesting success story of Die Linke (proper left-wing party) who managed to garner votes by embracing social media and *cough* populism in, what seems to be, a Good Way.
