You also have no stability. With a wage, you know what you’re getting and your employer can’t just cut wages easily. With gig work, you can wake up one day and suddenly they’ve slashed payouts without any negotiating.

I don’t know much about the Dark Ages because I haven’t played it yet. I am somewhat skeptical of the shift in tone and the introduction of melee components like shield. Doom is about blasting demons on Mars. The medival stuff is a bit weird. I actually did like Eternal though, and felt it brought back the faster gameplay that 2016 lacked.

The problem is actually old “liberal” hippies who refused to allow development of new housing for decades. NIMBYs as they’re called. I’d say the hippies are mostly gone, but the refusal to build housing remains. Go to any other major city in the country and there are usually cranes everywhere. Not in California. Tech bros did bid up the limited housing supply for awhile, but now that prices are easily $3-5 million, they’re even getting priced out unless they were a founder that got an exit or just lucked into joining a company at the right time – NVidia for instance.

I suspect Americans may forget, but maybe not Europeans given that him and Trump insulted their national pride. Same with Canadians.

Hey, maybe the world needs some people that lay low until they can have the most impact. I don’t agree with the guy on most things, but I respect that he did the right thing here when he was under a ton of pressure to the opposite.
