There’s a big piracy scene on Quest so if you really put in the effort you’re not giving these evil assholes much but generally I agree. There’s so much entertainment and things to do that I can really wait a bit longer as VR is not going away.

Its crazy that we can’t agree on any international rules except the ones that protect IP hoarding

I love VR and have multiple devices but the platforms are still really bad. There’s so much jank amplified by all of the greed by Apple and Meta. For example on Apple’s VR device you can’t have multiple users - they were so greedy that they thought they’d sell multiple devices per household.

Can’t wait for Valves Deckard or whatever next VR project they’re working on. Steamdeck is everything a handheld should be and if they can finally nail that in VR it would be awesome.

How is Quest a flop? Or are you talking about something else?

I used to have my living room gaming pc on windows and switched to linux this year and its awesome. Sunshine/moonlight are two programs that allow you to stream games from your pc to any device and it’s such a game changer!

I’m having relatively good performance in 6600rx on Linux but after a while theres some sort of GPU memory leak (would be my guess) where fps halves until the game is restarted.

Tbh I’d pay money for a foss alternative here. There are smart systems in KDE and Gnome already but if it could recall exact details on free software it would be awesome.

Was really sad when found out that my Linux home pc can’t run it on 6600rx. Turns out only needed a driver update and set desktop resolution to 1080p and now everything is running nicely at 60fps.

The game is really fun though I already added couple of balance mods:

• Unreal Engine tweaks to get rid of performance stutters
• Acension Remastered for fixing pretty bad balance that is still in the game. Adds rare loot, high level spawn points
• Balanced NPC level Cap to remove stupid NPC scaling ruber band
• Balanced Unleveled Rewards fixes rewards to be a bit more meaningful and interesting

I’m on AMD 6600RX and mesa 24.x was unplayble and runs almost perfectly on 25 now. So have hope!

You’ll never win against AI haters. Nothing is perfectly accurate and even if LLMs are less accurate than average it does not diminish the use case potential.

Its so tiring of people trying to patch problems with “gendered bathrooms”, “train cars only for women”, “women parking lots” rather than actually solving real problems. These band aids should be a temporary solutions at best but here we are - argueing about gendered bathrooms in 2025.

The worst when people try to spin these as some sort of innovation. Especially for gendered train cars here in Japan was such a huge thing and I couldn’t help but eye roll when instead of addressing perverts they just herd women into protected pens and put camera noise default on every smartphone that take 10 minutes to disable by actual criminals.
