Reddit’s (to some exent, Lemmy too) Misanthropy is kinda oddly unsettling.
I mean, people would joke about ending the world because humans “deserved it”, sure funny joke, but I’m starting to be worried if they are just joking or are some people actually planning to “punish” humanity for the wrongdoings of a few politicians that run the world.
Antinatalism =/= Misanthropy
If the voters are well informed about how their ranked-choice ballot works, then its the most ideal.
Otherwise, you could end up with idiots voting for their favorite, but not filling out the 2nd, 3rd, 4th choices, which ends up wasting a vote if their favorite gets eliminated. Of course, that would be a worse case scenario, I hope the average person is functional enough to know how to do a simple task like filling out a ballot, but honestly, the average person is so stupid (or just lazy) that I don’t have such high hopes.
If the most important goal is just to elminate the spoiler effect of FPTP, using a 2 round system is the more “idiot-proof” method to do so, in my opinion. I mean, the first round is effectively just a primary election that has been practiced for a long time, just without parties this time.
I mean, it is a two-round system.
First time is voting for your favorite.
Second round is voting against the worse of the two.
The US needs this, like get rid of party primaries and have a blanket non-partisan parimary where you vote for whoever. Bernie, AOC, etc.
Or better yet: ranked-choice.
When they sending time travellers, they aren’t sending their best. 🤦♂️
Kinda wish this happened on like January 1, 2024, we might’ve had an open Democratic Primary and potentially averted fascism.
I don’t think doordash lets you use a VPN.
Many platforms that deal with finance would reject an order when they detect VPNs or Tor (since that’s what fraudsters and scammers use), or they ask for additional verification (like SMS) to verify you are in fact the account holder. So they probably were just using their real IP address.
Bicycles don’t have license plates 😉
Simple. Manual reassigns are very unusual and that all being done by one employee (like an actual employee of Doordash that works on the digital platforn, not a driver), and they all are assigned to a small group of drivers. That would look very obvious if someone looked at the logs.
All they need is one confession from any of the driver, or the employee involved in this scheme, then the whole thing unravels.
Also, I’m under the impression that they stole customer accounts to make those orders. Customers would’ve reported that fraudulent purchases were made.
I mean, it is fraud, but I didn’t see nothin’ 😏
Can we get a dictrict-11 style riot? 👀
Squid Game is more fair.
Instead we have Hunger Games and a “Sponsorship” system
POV: Your narcissistic parent took out a loan with your identity and never paid it back. 🙃
Next time it’ll be Terrorist Children
I trust my cat to not bite me while petting the belly more than an oligarch.
(My cat actually doesn’t bite when I pet the belly, most of the tine)
AI isn’t real, Cats are real, warm, soft.
Cat is love, Cat is life.
When you use an app like Whatsapp, if you try to send a message witbout internet, it gets queued until you get internet.
With RCS, if it fails, it doesn’t get queued, it automatically falls back to SMS/MMS, which is how they got those stats.
I mean, I’d say a majority of messages send on 3rd party platforms in developing countries are probably “sent” while offline, but only actually gets delivered when they are on wifi.
If this were RCS, they would’ve just get converted to become SMS/MMS, which is how those statistics came to be. RCS that gets downgraded will never count as using RCS.
In the US, its a common thing.
Before, it’s actually just X GB data, you run out, you have nothing.
Then later it became “Unlimited, X GB of 4G/5G Data*” with a huge asterisk
Then in the fine print:
*After X GB is exceeded, speeds is reduced to 128 KB/s
Which is just a fancy way of saying: X GB Real data, after that we’re just trolling you with the unusable slow as molasses “data” and trying to get you to buy more data.
This is because these are the older, cheap plans. Like these plans could be anywhere from $15 to $30, per month. The real unlimited plans are not gonna be cheap.
Right now, I pay like $60 /month to have unlimited data + unlimited hotspot at reasonable speeds (like 15-25 Mbits up/down if its not congested) I do have wifi at home, but that’s a family network that don’t trust (long story, but I have trust issues with family)
This is just so sad, not even accounting for the politics. Like, imagine not being able to watch your favorite Youtuber, or a popular tv show/movie, just because your leaders said no.
I’ve watched a lot of great content over my life, and I can’t imagine the timeline where I missed out on it, just because I happened to live within a specific area on a map, borders arbitrarily drawn by people.
